Maria Wehdeking

Maria Wehdeking is a Colombian illustrator and graphic designer based in Montreal, Quebec.
Over 10 years, she has worked across advertising, UX/UI, and illustration, most recently as a
visual designer at Webtoon Entertainment. As an illustrator, she intertwines her Latin American
heritage with Eastern expressions and colors to create a unique mixed aesthetic.

Beyond professional practice, Wehdeking has taught design at the CEGEP/Associate level.
These experiences inspired her to pursue a Master of Design at Concordia University, where
she strengthens her skills through research. Her goal is to amplify the voices of Latin American
immigrants, explore the emotional consequences of migration, and visualize how they create a
sense of belonging away from home. She is eager to use art and print techniques to bring her
skills into new mediums that share stories of resilience. Her experiences as a Colombian
woman continue to shape how she pushes the boundaries of art and design.
